Cast Off at Walt Disney World During National Fishing & Boating Week

We’re just weeks away from the first day of summer and there’s no better way to kick off the season than with a day on the water alongside family and friends! And, there’s no better time to get started than this week! Now through June 9 is National Fishing & Boating Week, a national celebration that highlights the importance of recreational boating and fishing. And best of all, guests visiting Walt Disney World Resort can celebrate by embarking on fishing and boating adventures on select lakes and lagoons surrounding this magical place, thanks to our friends at Take Me Fishing!

Departing from select Walt Disney World Resort hotels, your group can enjoy a catch-and-release bass fishing excursion alongside a trained Disney fishing guide. Whether you’re a family of first-timers or a group of avid anglers, you’re guaranteed to reel in the fun during this experience. Or, for an on-land experience, dockside fishing is available at the Fishin’ Hole at Ol’ Man Island at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside. There’s something for everyone and best of all, no prior fishing experience is required to participate!

Fishing excursions are a Disney must-do for my Dad and I whenever he visits. There’s something about those early mornings on the water that instantly transports me back to all the fond memories I have fishing in upstate New York – that is, until I look to the right and see Cinderella Castle!
